Discrimination

Both South Dakota law and Federal law give all of you the right to be treated with respect and to be acknowledged for your own particular interests, strengths and weaknesses. This is the heart of the antidiscrimination laws which prohibit judging someone based on race, national origin, color, sex, age, religion, handicaps, marital status, sexual orientation, having children, or public assistance as a source of income. Discrimination is prohibited in employment, housing, access to public accommodations (public buildings, hotels, restaurants, education, and services funded by federal funds). If you believe that you have been discriminated against, contact the South Dakota commission Against Discrimination.
